Built for the big stuff

Boldly invested in Maine for 40 years…and growing

2023 marks the 40th anniversary of Maine Community Foundation. Our history and connections to all 16 counties in Maine is rich; after what started as a $10 donation, MaineCF and our donor partners have provided more than $665 million in grants to organizations and scholarships to individuals all over the state. The connections between MaineCF, donors, non-profits and community leaders help to achieve a shared mission: bringing people and resources together to build a better Maine.

We’ve dedicated ourselves to Maine for 40 years, and as we enter our fifth decade, MaineCF is committed to upholding this mission and continuing the partnerships that have brought us here. We are dedicated to doing what it takes to ensure that Maine is a vibrant and equitable place where people and communities thrive. We are boldly invested in Maine and our new strategic plan lights the path toward this bright future.

We’re committed to driving greater impact by creatively building on decades of work and engaging all the resources, relationships and skills in our toolkit.

We’ll mobilize philanthropic resources across the state by building relationships with new and existing donors and community members. We’re focused on building flexible assets so we can nimbly respond to needs and opportunities as they arise.

By strengthening operations and aligning the organization with the needs in our communities, we will position MaineCF to strengthen Maine. We’ll continue to invest in our own people and processes to ensure we’re set up to help our neighbors thrive.

We’re bullish about Maine’s future. Our new logo, which evokes the brightness and beauty of the Maine landscape, expresses our optimism.  MaineCF reaches all corners of Maine and the artwork in the logo reflects all of us, no matter which part of the state.  There is no part of Maine we don’t touch.  We embrace all of Maine.

We aren’t stopping with a new strategic plan and logo, though. We are diving into conversations with donors, non-profits, businesses, government and residents, to determine the areas of greatest need and opportunity and to identify how MaineCF can be most helpful. We will then forge partnerships and collaborate across sectors, bringing our own local relationships, knowledge and financial resources to the table.

We can’t do this alone – just as the colorful elements of this new logo meld together different components to create a rich picture that reflects our state, we hope those of you who care deeply about Maine will come together to make a real and lasting difference for all Mainers.
