A $2.5 million gift from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott and husband, Dan Jewett, more than doubled the Expansion Art Fund’s annual budget for grants in 2021. Grants totaling $154,590, including two funded by donor-advised funds, were awarded to 19 arts organizations and arts projects across the state. The grantees serve rural communities and/or Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, particularly in areas with limited access to the arts.
