Grapevine Association Designated Scholarship Fund

The Grapevine Association has been fundraising and sponsoring awards for Greenville High School graduates for over 50 years. Local high school boys from the classes of ’48, ’49 and ‘50 who remained friends beyond their high school days decided 20 years later to give back to their community. That group included Roland Babbin, W.L. "Tony” Bartley, Arthur Hathaway, Louis Hilton, Walter Jardine, Richard “Duke” McKeil, James McNaughton, E. “Dave” Muzzy, Loren Ritchie and Brad Whitten. In 1966, the Grapevine Association was established to receive and grow contributions. Fundraising events were organized to raise money for scholarships to local students to further their educations. Those scholarships continue today with some alumni from the sixties working to keep the funds growing and available to graduating seniors at Greenville Consolidated School.
