For 40 years, Downeast Salmon Federation (DSF) has worked to bring the Atlantic salmon fishery back to Maine's rivers.

Executive Director Dwayne Shaw and founding board member Joe Robbins talk about technological and regulatory advancements and how the organization has worked to support the fishery over the past four decades.

MaineCF's Maine Land Protection grant program provided $7,000 in grant support for DSF's conservation of land with riparian habitats on the Pennamaquan River in Pembroke.

The Washington County Committee last year awarded DSF $10,000 through the Community Building Grant Program to rehabilitate and redevelop the historic Dennysville Sportsman’s Club into a fully accessible outdoor community gathering area. In 2020, a donor-advised fund at MaineCF awarded the organization $10,000 to kick start a planned giving program.
