The York County Fund was established in 2007. In 2008, the York County Committee began making grants from the fund through the Community Building Grant Program.

The Maine Community Foundation manages the York County Fund, and local leaders, knowledgeable about their communities, help review grant applications.

Recent grants from the York County Fund
  • Caring Unlimited, Sanford, for staff consultation and training to strengthen the Children's Services Program
  • Harbor Light Stage, Kittery Point, to support a substantive redesign of the website
  • University of New England, Biddeford, to support a literacy and math tutoring program sponsored by the Office of Citizenship that will train UNE students to tutor at local schools
