Stephanie Bernath Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships to graduating female seniors of Scarborough High School in memory of Stephanie Bernath, an alumna who died in a tragic car accident in 1999. Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 84/100; demonstrated athletic ability and/or a passion for a non-competitive sport, such as mountain climbing or horseback riding; and a demonstrated interest in community service.

Larry Blouin Scholarship Fund
This Fund was established in 1999 in Larry's memory to encourage and support those who embody his interests and spirit. Larry was an active participant in his community, particularly with the Gorham Fire Department. He had hoped to become a firefighter one day. The Fund supports the Gorham Fire Department, with preference for the College-Live-In Program; and current employees of Fresh Samantha who were with the company as of May 29, 1999, when the Fund was established, and who are residents of Maine.

Billy Brown Sports Award
Billy Brown graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1981. He was a passionate athlete both on and off the field. He was a big fan and supporter of all Cape Elizabeth sports. After graduating CEHS, Billy went on to coach baseball and softball at Yarmouth Middle School and soccer at Portland High School. With the same spirit and passion with which Billy always embraced sports, his family and friends have created this award for a deserving Cape Elizabeth student. The purpose of this award is to celebrate a graduating senior who clearly demonstrates a passion for sports through participation as an athlete, manager or mascot while at Cape Elizabeth High School. The position held and individual sports are not as important as the student's enthusiasm and commitment - a student who is there "for the love of it". Eligible nominees are hard-working students who have achieved a consistent academic record. Nominations are invited from any coach working with students in the Athletic Program at Cape Elizabeth High School.

Daniel S. Clark Scholarship Fund
The Daniel S. Clark Scholarship Fund supports graduating special education seniors at Gorham High School in their pursuit of post-secondary education.

Chet Jordan Leadership Award Fund
This scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of Chet Jordan, a Portland based businessman who exhibited a deep sense of civic responsibility in his community and his home state of Maine. Mr. Jordan grew up in Portland and spent his leisure time in Patten and Aroostook County, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. The family and friends of Chet Jordan established this scholarship in 1995 to celebrate the rich legacy of his leadership in business and civic affairs in his beloved state of Maine. Chet found opportunity in adversity. He was a visionary thinker who respected diverse opinions. He was actively involved with his family, friends, employees and community and delighted in their successes. The Chet Jordan Leadership Award is presented to students who are emerging leaders in their community and school. Eligible applicants are graduating seniors at the following high schools: Augusta, Bangor, Brewer, Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Deering, Falmouth, Gorham, Katahdin, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland, Yarmouth, and all high schools in Aroostook County who are leaders despite hardship, adversity or disability. Academic excellence is not a prerequisite, but demonstrated compassion, dependability and hard work are.

George H. Cressy Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the George H. Cressy Memorial Scholarship is to support Portland High School students pursuing their personal best outside of the traditional school environment through experiential education, summer programs or special instruction. Eligible applicants are sophomores or juniors enrolled at Portland High School seeking to participate in an enrichment program or opportunity prior to his/her senior year. Preference will be given to students with financial need who exemplify Mr. Cressy's belief in hard work, perseverance and loyalty.

John S. and Marjoria R. Cunningham Scholarship Fund
The John S. and Marjoria R. Cunningham Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 to provide scholarship support to a graduating senior of Gray/New Gloucester High School. The scholarship may be renewed during the course of recipient’s college education. Preference will be given to applicants who are goal oriented, have financial need, and show academic potential. Students may attend a two-year community college or a four-year college or university.

Leland R. Dahlgren Scholarship Fund
This Fund was established in 1999 by the family and friends of Leland R. Dahlgren. The fund provides scholarship assistance to graduates of Washburn District (Aroostook County, Maine) High School and Yarmouth (Cumberland County, Maine) High School with a strong preference for students who plan to pursue a course of study in the building trades at a two- or four-year college or university. Relevant fields include earthwork, hvac, electrical, architecture, engineering [mechanical, structural], carpentry, masonry, and plumbing.

Connie Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 1994, the Connie Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship assistance to scholastically and morally worthy young members of the Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland who seek support for post-secondary education.

Ralph C. Goff Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Goff Scholarship was established in 1993 to provide scholarship support to graduates of Bonny Eagle High School, with preference given to residents of Hollis and Buxton and/or students pursuing agricultural, business or vocational education.

Janet Davidson Hammond Medical Scholarship of the Molly Ockett Chapter, DAR
This fund supports graduating seniors from Fryeburg Academy, Lake Region High School, and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School who plan to pursue studies in a medical field at a two-year community college or a four-year college or university. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in nursing or physical therapy.

Jessica Ann Herrick, Misty Renee Cote & Michaela Lee Herrick Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1992 through the support of family and friends of these three young women, the memorial fund provides one scholarship to a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School pursuing post-secondary education in veterinary science or foreign studies, and/or to a graduate of Catherine McAuley High School pursuing post-secondary education in the areas of computer science, the humanities, or medicine. Each year the scholarship will rotate between Bonny Eagle and Catherine McAuley to honor one of the girls.

Hibbard Family Scholarship Fund
The Hibbard Family Scholarship Fund was established by Irving E. and Nancy W. Hibbard to honor their children, Julie and Stephen, both of whom graduated from Portland High School. The Fund will provide scholarship support to graduates of Portland High School who are pursuing post-secondary education at a four-year liberal arts college or university. Eligible applicants are students who are passionate life-long learners who are able to articulate their demonstrated love of learning in the essay submitted with their application. They must have achieved a GPA of 88 or higher during their tenure at Portland High School.

Hollis Rescue, Inc. (1989-2004) Scholarship Fund
The Hollis Rescue, Inc. (1989-2004) Scholarship Fund supports a graduating senior at Bonny Eagle High School who is pursuing post-secondary education, preferably in healthcare.

Horton-Ricker Educational Fund
The Horton-Ricker Educational Fund supports residents of Harrison, Maine, under the age of 25 pursue post-secondary education. There is a preference for students majoring in education.

Ray Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Ray Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors at Portland High School who are active members of the school community through their participation in either hockey or the arts. Preference will be given to hardworking students with average grades who have a strong record of community service.

The Higgins Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to graduates of Cape Elizabeth High School who are pursuing post-secondary education at a college, university or community college.

Joshua Kuck Scholarship Fund
This scholarship has been established by the family, friends and admirers of Joshua Kuck, a 2003 graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School. Josh was a kind and fun-loving young man, with an insatiable appetite for knowledge and adventure. Passionate about living life to its fullest, he followed his heart wherever it led him, and he was always looking for the next new experience. In the company of well-chosen, close friends, Josh enjoyed participating in team sports such as lacrosse and water polo, but was equally as happy at pursuits such as bicycling and skiing.
This Fund celebrates Josh’s life and gives the opportunity for another Cape Elizabeth High School graduate in good academic standing to pursue a college education. Eligible applicants must demonstrate compassion for peers and members of a broader community, have an adventurous spirit and be not afraid to stand alone in their choices, and passionately pursue an activity or path that promotes self-improvement. In the case of similar applicants, financial need may be taken into consideration.

Dr. John and Alice Madigan Fund
The Dr. John & Alice Madigan Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 to provide scholarship support to students from the Greater Portland area who will be attending a 4-year college or university program in theater, music or the performing or visual arts. Recipients will be graduating seniors who demonstrate a sense of civic responsibility, strong moral character, a solid work ethic, participation in performing or visual arts programs or activities for the past two years, and high academic achievement. Preference will be given to graduates of Portland High School, Deering High School, Chevrus High School and Catherine McAuley High School.

Ann Mason-Osann Scholarship Fund
The friends and family of Ann Mason-Osann established this scholarship to honor her memory and celebrate her love of music. The fund is to provide support to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Gorham or congregants at the First Parish Church in Gorham to pursue post-secondary education in music, preferably voice. Financial need is to be considered only in the case of equally qualified applicants.

Reynolds E. Moulton Family Student Athlete Achievement Award
The Reynolds E. Moulton Family Student Athlete Award was established in 2000 by Reynolds E. Moulton, Jr. The fund provides scholarship assistance to a graduating senior of Cape Elizabeth High School who plans to attend a four-year college or university and has demonstrated outstanding athletic and academic ability, including above-average academic performance.

Ted Rand Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Ted Rand Memorial Scholarship Fund supports students from the Casco Bay islands including Peaks, Little Diamond, Long, Chebeague and Cliff Islands. Recipients will be graduating seniors who demonstrate a sense of civic responsibility, strong moral character, a solid work ethic, participation in extra-curricular or community activities, high academic achievement, and financial need.

Kenneth M. Roberts Scholarship Fund
The Kenneth M. Roberts Scholarship Fund supports graduates of Yarmouth High School to continue their education at a post-secondary college or community college. Preference will be given to a graduate who has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to excellence in curricular and extracurricular endeavors and who shows promise and interest in making a positive difference in the lives of others through education, coaching or public service.

Stephen L. Ross Scholarship Fund
The Stephen L. Ross Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Stephen L. Ross, son of Lewis and Geraldine Ross and resident of Chebeague Island, killed in an automobile accident in 1964. The fund provides scholarship support to obtain education or training beyond high school to a graduating high school senior or a student enrolled in the first year of post-secondary education or training. Applicants must have been residents of Chebeague Island, Maine, for at least six consecutive months preceding May 1 of the year for which an award is sought.

David K. Silverman Fund
The David K. Silverman Fund supports two graduating seniors at Portland High School who demonstrate both academic achievement and financial need. Buddy Silverman was a lifelong Portland resident who was devoted to family and friends. His wise and honest counsel was constantly sought. Buddy was actively involved in several family run enterprises including management of the Exchange Building in Portland's Old Port. For several decades he personally sustained the last remaining synagogue on Portland's peninsula, Congregation Etz Chaim. He established the David K. Silverman Fund at the Maine Community Foundation in order to provide support for those institutions he and his family supported in life and to provide educational and economic opportunity for future generations.

Pearl Starbird Scholarship Fund
Pearl Starbird is an accomplished artist and musician. She shared her passion for art for many years as a teacher in the Boston schools. Her skill as a cellist was a more personal interest, which she enjoyed with her friends. Although she worked in Boston throughout her career, Pearl considered her family's camp in Waterford to be her home. This is where she spent her summer vacations and came to live when she retired from teaching. She brought her love of classical music and art to Waterford and established this scholarship to encourage students who share her passion to pursue their education in these fields.
The purpose of this Fund is to provide renewable scholarship support to graduates of any Oxford County, Maine, high school or Lake Region High School in Naples, Maine, to pursue college-level education in music or the arts (with special consideration to be given to the study of painting, drawing or sculpture). "Art" in this context refers to the traditional visual arts rather than writing. There is a preference for the study of classical music. This Fund is meant to make the difference between a student choosing to major in art or music as opposed to a "more practical" course of study.

Frank Stocks Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Frank Stocks Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the family and friends of Frank Stocks in 2000. For 30 years Frank Stocks was a teacher in the Bonny Eagle school system. The annual scholarship is to benefit an overall outstanding member of the senior class at Bonny Eagle High School pursuing post-secondary education.

Stephen Gordon Ward Memorial Fund
The Stephen Gordon Ward Memorial Fund was established in the memory of Stephen, a 1986 graduate of Gorham High School and co-captain of the basketball team, who was killed at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. This fund provides scholarship support to graduates of Gorham High School who are pursuing post-secondary education. Awards will be made based on academic promise, record of leadership and participation and contribution to a sports team while at school

Brant Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Brant Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by his family and friends to support Harpswell residents who are graduating seniors at Mt. Ararat High School pursue post-secondary education at a college, university or other educational source of general equivalency. Preference will be given to eligible applicants pursuing studies in a technical field such as boat building, drafting, electronics, graphic design and information technology.
