Esther B. Card Scholarship
The Esther B. Card Scholarship honors Mrs. Card’s lifetime commitment to education and community leadership. A woman who believed in practicing what she preached, Mrs. Card was an active member of many volunteer groups. Having summered in Cape Porpoise since 1912, Mrs. Card returned to live out her life in the Kennebunks, a place of so many cherished memories and a place where her descendants carry on the summer tradition. She never ceased to pursue her interests and to serve her community. It is in this spirit that the Esther Bates Card Scholarship was created.
This fund supports graduating seniors at Kennebunk High School pursuing post-secondary education. Eligible applicants will exemplify Mrs. Card’s commitment to the caring support of those around her, to community service, and to the pursuit of learning.
