Quality of Place Grants Awarded to 14 Nonprofits

The Environmental Funders Network (EFN) has awarded $470,500 in grants to 14 organizations through its Quality of Place initiative.

In this, the final year of EFN's three-year program, the grantees are: Androscoggin Land Trust, Downeast Salmon Federation, Friends of Midcoast Maine, GrowSmart Maine, Healthy Community Coalition, Mahoosuc Land Trust, Keeping Maine's Forests, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, Maine Conservation Voters Education Fund, Maine Development Foundation, Presumpscot River Watershed Coalition (formerly the Casco Bay Estuary Project), Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association, Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine, and the Trust for Public Land.

“These organizations are committed to enhancing quality of place across Maine by strengthening the link between the natural and built environments and through public engagement and collaboration,” said Lynne Seeley, chair of the EFN steering committee.

Contributors to this collaborative funding initiative include individual donors and foundation trustees who are inspired by the Brookings Institution’s “Charting Maine’s Future” report.

The Environmental Funders Network is a joint project of the Maine Community Foundation and the Maine Philanthropy Center.
