Program for Nonprofit Effectiveness 2010 Graduates

Three Maine nonprofits, Southern Maine Agency on Agency, United Way of York County, and Washington County Children’s Program, have successfully completed the three-year Program for Nonprofit Effectiveness. A partnership between Common Good Ventures (CGV) and the Maine Community Foundation, the program provides technical and financial assistance to nonprofits seeking to increase their ability to deliver services.

Southern Maine Agency on Aging was able to improve its Meals on Wheels program by increasing the quality and variety of the meals, consolidating distribution sites, and creating more efficient delivery routes. United Way of York County created the York County Youth Financial Literacy Network, a pilot project that brings together volunteers from business, education, and nonprofits to help young people manage their finances responsibly. The Washington County Children’s Program developed a new data management system to track the children they serve and streamline billing and fund-raising.

The Program for Nonprofit Effectiveness was established in 2002 to strengthen nonprofits by providing technical and financial assistance that would enable them to deliver their programs more effectively and to increase their social impact.
