Support for local agriculture encompasses a range of philanthropic activities. Donors interested in farmland conservation and promotion of sustainable practices, healthy eating and access to local produce, education, or economic development, for example, can find giving opportunities in this field.
Below is an overview of grant support for agriculture-related projects followed by a list of grants made by MaineCF and its donor advisors since 2006 in each area. Other organizations making grants in support of local agriculture include Maine Initiatives and the Maine Department of Agriculture.
