Private support propels groundbreaking report
Maine Community Foundation donors were early investors, and five MaineCF donor-advised funds made major grants to support the research and grassroots activities underpinning the report.
“For all its challenges,” the recently published Brookings Institution report begins, “Maine stands within reach of a new prosperity–
if it takes bold action and focuses its limited resources on a few critical investments.” Judging by the response to the report, Mainers across the state and across sectors agree and have turned out in large numbers to hear more about and discuss the report’s recommendations for ways to build a more sustainable, prosperous Maine.
