Maine Community Foundation: Investing in Maine

For the Maine Community Foundation, investing in Maine takes many forms: engaging in leadership activities that help strengthen communities, making grants to nonprofits doing vital work, helping students further their education, and partnering with donors on projects that will advance our quality of life and place.

The community foundation's investments cover the full range of fields, from the arts to health to youth, but we have made a special commitment to the following:

  • An educated workforce: Increasing the number of Mainers attending college, technical school, and other educational programs
  • More involved citizens: Encouraging people to be an active part of their communities
  • A healthy environment: Engaging organizations and funders in preserving Maine's quality of place
  • Thriving communities: Supporting economic development by supporting downtown revitalization and expanding local agriculture
