Currently, the Maine Community Foundation does not have a county committee in Kennebec County.
Grant proposals from Kennebec county groups to MaineCF's
Community Building Grant Program will be reviewed by a statewide committee.
County and regional committees enhance the foundation’s presence at the local and regional level and provide on-the-ground leadership for foundation activities. Committee members, called county advisors, assist the foundation in awarding grants and with outreach efforts to current and prospective donors with the goal of using philanthropy to build stronger communities across Maine.
The first county committees were established in 1986; the most recent, the York County Committee, was officially launched in 2007. It is a strategic priority for the Maine Community Foundation to expand the County and Regional Program to serve all parts of the state.
