MaineCF & Common Good Ventures Announce New Nonprofit Partners

The Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF), partnering with Common Good Ventures, has selected three nonprofits for 2007 as part of the foundation’s Program for Nonprofit Effectiveness. Southern Maine Agency on Aging in Scarborough, United Way of York County in Kennebunk and the Washington County Children’s Program in Machias will receive a $15,000 grant renewable twice over a three-year period from MaineCF and management coaching from Common Good Ventures.

Established in 2002, the Program for Nonprofit Effectiveness helps Maine nonprofits maximize their efficiency and operations in order to better serve clients.

Southern Maine Agency on Aging, which serves residents in Cumberland and York counties, will develop a plan to address seniors’ changing needs and identify important trends impacting their service to an aging “baby boomer” population.

United Way of York County will use its grant to more effectively use collaboration to achieve community-level outcomes both within and beyond the social service arena.

Washington County Children's Program will focus on using technology to better capture, manage and utilize data in decision-making on financial matters and program evaluation.

A statewide organization with offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works in partnership with donors and community groups to strengthen Maine communities.

Located in Brunswick, Common Good Ventures strengthens nonprofits through long-term business coaching partnerships that achieve maximum social and economic returns.
