Eastern Maine Funders Energy Initiative

For the past three years, the Maine Community Foundation has partnered with other funders to support fuel assistance for families in Eastern Maine. With heating oil prices expected to reach $5 per gallon or more this winter, the need will be even greater, verging on desperate for some.

For the 2008-09 heating season, the Eastern Maine Funders have set a $500,000 fundraising goal.

Last year's initiative funders included the Haskell-Stetson Fund, Joan and David Maxwell Fund, Belvedere Fund, and King & Jean Cummings Charitable Fund of the Maine Community Foundation; United Way of Eastern Maine; JTG Foundation; Webber Energy Fuels; Nancy Hollis Brain Foundation; Wyman's Blueberries; Bangor Savings Bank Foundation; and the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation.
